Therefore, if you intend to book a place I would encourage you to do so at your earliest opportunity. Then is no need to reply if you have already booked a place and received an email acknowledgment, or contacted me to advise you can not attend. Thank you, Sharon

The invitation to our meeting(s) is not only open to Enforcement Officers, but also to those in local government with an interest in or responsibility for planning enforcement including Planning Officers, Solicitors and Elected Members...

SEOG Webmasters Message
I wish to send my apologies to all for the delay in updating the website but this was due to a major hardware failure resulting in me having to replace my pc and rebuild and reload all the necessary software to access the website. Finally I have managed to achive this and update the website(homepage at least)and as you will see things have changed in terms of the format for registering for meetings. I belive this is a trial setup by the new management and it is up to you to decide whether this is easier than registering on the website.

Further to this you are probably already aware that all Councils are now tightening their IT security to meet new security standards to connect to the Government Connect Secure Extranet (GCSx) and as a consequence this may well have already affected you - employees will be restricted quite severley in what they can plug into their work pc's as well as what you can even connect too and this includes email traffic and every file/piece of data will be logged. This is likely to cause problems to SEOG communications especially emails and that is why registerations were orginally web based. In any case this matter is likely to be discussed at the October meeting whereby you will be able to comment on whether it is your preference to be notified of meetings by hard copy letter and continue to register on the website or be notified by email and register by return email!

Whilst things are changing fast I can confirm I have managed just recently to secure with my LPA IT Dept access to Seog emails as I was able to justify it as key resource for communicating planning/enforcement matters to members, however I will still need to continue to manage the website outside of the workplace as I have always done. It may be the case that the SEOG chairman writes a letter to all Councils to make the case that employees should be allowed access to SEOGs website within the workplace however the emails notifications especially with attachments is unlikely to be allowed. (as an exmaple of security see article here about usb stick security) .P Corbett
