"I would just like to say a big thank to you all for the card and the gift presented to me at the last meeting. I can assure you that the money will be well spent on item/s for the golf course, my only vice. Some of you will already know that not only am I giving up SEOG but I have also decided to take early retirement, and although I seem to have been Jim's lackey for a number of years the decisions are actually unrelated.

In the past few years I have gained a great deal of knowledge from speakers and colleagues, but that pales into insignificance to the friends I have made, especially, if I may be so bold, that of Jim Lynn, a true friend. No doubt he will continue to harangue me for years to come.
